When you’re traveling to Cancun it’s not to spend the whole vacation locked in a hotel. Cancun has too many natural and man made attractions to see in just one visit it’s truly a pity that many first time visitors are mislead into spending their whole time on the beach or in the bars.

Cancun has many of these attractions less than half a day’s travel. A short drive from the city you can visit archeological sites like Chitchen Itza ,the site of a well preserved Mayan village. Here you can Climb to the tops of these ancient pyramids and stare at a landscape that was usually only admired by Mayan priests and their sacrifices. You can even venture inside some of the pyramids and see preserved murals some featuring jade, which isn’t native to the region and is believed to prove Asian traders may have visited the natives before the Europeans did. Plus, don’t forget to check and see about staying for the laser show and mock sacrifice.

Cancun and the surrounding region is popular for snorkelers but few want to venture into the ocean reefs where there is a risk of encountering sharks. A safer alternative is is Xel Ha nature park . Here you can swim with and snorkel amongst thousands of colorful fish in a naturally insulated reef cove.

The history of contemporary art in Brazil is one that reveals a wild and eclectic blend of styles and personalities. Since the restrictions were lifted in the later part of the 20th century, more and more work has become known to the rest of the world, and more bold experiments are being created. This is all under the memory of censorship, where the artists of the 60s were forced to find new ways to communicate complex meanings. As such, a lot of the art that comes from this region has been heavily influenced, and influential in, the global movement in conceptual art. Although that moment might be considered past, it does still exist in the theoretical frameworks of contemporary artists.

Adriana Varella is one perfect example of this. She’s now based in New York, although her creative consciousness was formed, one could say, when she was living and studying in Rio de Janeiro. Hotels and tourist culture are a part of the city that also runs through everything, and it’s certainly found its way into her work. She, like many of her generation, is involved in the process of interrogating identity. Her work has some self-exploration, but her complex tactics are designed to ask questions and to undermine the viewer’s expectations, so that they will wonder and reflect on who and where they are.

There are plenty of terrific pockets of culture all throughout the city of San Diego. One can find top San Diego hotels in every neighborhood, and they’re all worth exploring, and all very much connected. It’s one of the more navigable cities in the state, where a wrong turn on the freeway is usually pretty easily connected with onramps to others. Most places seem to be always less than 20 minutes away, making it easy to plan complicated itineraries, and see a lot of new things.

The city is connected by more than freeways, and more than cultures, although these are rather foundational to making things work. Just like culture is attracted to difference and sameness in equal measure, love of art breeds more love of art. It’s almost difficult to find successful artists who aren’t connected to UCSD in some way here, and the connections are worth embracing.

That’s definitely the case with the Patricia Rincon Dance Collective , where its founder is a faculty member at the university. Their work is eclectic, and has won multiple awards, and always worth seeing. Two of the company’s pet projects, the Blurred Borders Dance Festival, and the Myth Project, connect local artists with the university, and make larger concentric circles toward the international community. By connecting to the frameworks of the city, it also helps to make its frameworks more solid, and always more interesting.

Denver generally is not the place you think of when you are thinking of great theater. It is not Broadway, but that by no means makes a difference in the fact that there are some great events that are going to be happening in Denver this summer. Make sure you book your luxury Denver hotels soon though, before they have run out of room.

If you like theater, Zoot Suit will be performed by the Buntport Theater company. This may be one of the most important shows written by and for the Latino community. Set in Los Angeles it follows a group of Latin American gangsters who are falsely accused of murder.

If you love Cajun music, you will not want to miss BeauSoleil and Buckwheat Zydeco. They have turned Cajun music into an international experience as they bring new tones into the music, while still letting the strange mix of New Orleans Jazz, Tex-Mex and unique Cajun sounds.

If you like art, there are a few too many art exhibits to really get excited about all of them right now. Moore for example will have an exhibit of his up all summer long in the botanic garden . This is something that everyone should try to see once. He was named one of the best modern artists by Time magazine back in 2008 and this exhibit shows why he got that honor.

LA is well known for being the movie capital of the world, and while some of the greatest film makers and film companies have their studios and offices based in this beautiful coastal city, it is also true that many of the early great film makers and actors had their studios in Los Angeles and based their careers there. And it is important to remember that greats like Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, who also happened to be the founders of United Artists , paved the way for the film industry to become the great tradition it is today and play such a prominent role in contemporary culture and society.

Charlie Chaplin Studios was built by Chaplin in 1917 and it is located just south of the southeast corner of Sunset Boulevard and La Brea. At the time of its construction, the studio was located in a residential area and Chaplin purchased the property from R.S. McClellan who had previously lived on the property and maintained a grove of orange trees. Construction of the studios was finally complete, after much red tape and more than a few troubles and resistance by some of the neighbors, in 1919. This and other early studios are some of the popular tourist destinations for many of the guests in hotel rooms LA .

While at the studios Chaplin shot many of his classic films including The Kid, The Gold Rush, Modern Times and Limelight, as well as The Great Dictator. Each of these movies featured the tramp character that Chaplin had developed and the world fell in love with. During the construction of the studios Chaplin retained a livable residence that was located in the back of the property and intended to live there, though he himself never did. Various other studio personal lived in the house at various times, including Chaplin’s brother Sydney. Chaplin sold the studios in 1953 and it has seen different owners since that time. In 1969 it was designated as a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument.

For those looking to enjoy the Greensboro nightlife and be free from responsibility there are plenty of places to head for you too. no matter your music tastes, you are guaranteed to find something that fits your tastes. Inferno is a club featuring themed nights and even has a teen night on Fridays. If you didn’t manage to get out without the kids and they’re between 13 and 18 this is the perfect chance to let them meet people their own age and let you and your sweetheart go to dinner and maybe some dancing of your own. For those looking for a country western scene and maybe some live music along that vein the place to go is Arizona Pete’s. If you have a more eclectic taste and like rock, blues, and maybe a little alternative the place to go is The Blind Tiger , a popular music venue. Be sure to check their websites; you never know when you might get lucky and catch your favorite band playing.

Living just to find devotion is the tao, is the way, in the big city. When everybody wants a thrill, sometimes it takes a small town girl with big city dreams to make it all come true. And when the bandleader starts the song, and the girl walks in with a white dress that’s been torn from haunting an abandoned building somewhere in time, somewhere in Austria where no one gets married without losing their own histories and herstories, it’s a dream for the front pocket. A dream she can keep.

If there were no Miranda Clark , it would be necessary to invent her, and that’s what she’s done. Or doing. She’s not done doing, because this carousel won’t stop, can’t stop, not in this century, when there’s so much left to be done. There are questions to ask, things to make, and serious accessorizing that has to happen or the prom will be ruined and we will all end up crying on the curb.

This is a performance, this is an emergency, this is a dream wedding with a week in the perfect dream of a perfect hotel , somewhere inside the city that doesn’t sleep, but if it did, we would want it to dream a little dream for her.

Sweetness comes, sweetness reigns, sweetness is the queen of the ball, but sometime after the ticktock of quiet children speed up to a monotone, the high pitch wakes the dogs of history and memory. Collective memory fills the mouths of the living with the skittles of time, and no one is able to speak without rainbows coming falling down, down the chins of the gatekeepers. Meanwhile, she is there, somewhere in the dining room, looking through the china cabinet, sharpening digital fingernails and watching for signs of the wolf at the door.

It’s an ongoing struggle between dog and wolf, a fight that left the forest a long time ago, and one that has to return to the forest to find its proper ring. Boxing or wedding, the verbs are pouring off the page and into an image we can’t recall and can’t deny, and meanwhile meanwhile, someone is being evicted from a karaoke bar at the crossroads of culture and gender.

Most people think of December 7, 1941 when they think of the history of this main Hawaiian island. The story of Pearl Harbor has been told over and over again. It was after all on of the biggest military tragedies of the United States of modern times. A whole fleet take by surprise and ruined in a short period of time. The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor is the most visited attraction on the island. People come from all over the world to see, once again, the story of what happened and to pay respect to the men that still lie entombed in the ship at the bottom of the harbor. The visit starts in the main building were visitors can see movies talking about and showing some of the attack. Then they will get you on a ride out to the sunken battleship. There is an amazing viewing room floating on above the ship that shows visitors sections of the USS Arizona. The exhibit is growing with the addition of the WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument which is going to show visitors more of the story that lead up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This exhibit will get into more detail about what was going on with the relationships between the United States, Japan and China before this tragic day. It is a must see for anyone who is visiting Hawaii and will leave such a haunting feeling in ones heart. This attack on the United State from Japan was supposed to keep the U.S. from engaging in any military activities against Japan while they were trying to attack Britain and the Netherlands in Southeast Asia. They didn’t get what they wanted out of the deal, they only woke a sleeping giant as the United States entered WWII. Take some time away from all those beach side honolulu luxury hotels and come see what happened in the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Modesto California is not a huge city and when someone mentions California it will not be the first place that pops into the majority of people’s minds but there are a few interesting things to do and see.

While California is home to a couple of major league baseball franchises such as the Anaheim Angels and the Oakland A’s if you are not close to those cities or do not feel like spending a huge amount of money to see a game then you are in luck. Modesto California has a team that plays at the John Thurman Field located at 601 Neece Drive Modesto, CA 95351 called the Nuts. You can get a ticket to a game for about $10 as opposed to spending about $100 a ticket to see one of those major league squads. Also, if you wanted to buy a beer at a major league teams stadium you would have to spend the better part of $10 a bottle but Thursday nights at the John Thurman Field are $1 beer nights and needless to say it is one of the stadiums most popular promotions.

Another thing to see is the gateway to Modesto. It is the Modesto Arch, a large arch made of metal with the words water, wealth, contentment, and health written across it under the name Modesto. The Modesto Arch was built in 1912 and the words water, wealth, contentment, and health were chosen after a contest was held to see who could create the best slogan. The odd thing about the slogan is that it was not the first place winner of the competition in fact it was the runner up. The first place slogan was “nobody’s got Modesto’s goat.” The arch serves as a Modesto landmark and it is on the majority of postcards and many of the news reports are done in front of the arch . While in Modesto be sure to procure a hotel room to make your stay more comfortable.
