Going off to college is exciting, nerve racking and stressful. There are many things to coordinate and many things that you wouldn’t typically think to do when going off to college. So here is a list of the top five things students should do or think about before heading off to college.

1. Housing
Obviously housing is one of the most important parts of college. Whether you live on campus, at home or in an apartment, housing is going to be one of the critical things to look into. Living on campus or at home won’t be too difficult to arrange but if you are going to live off campus in a house or apartment, you will definitely want to research and look into property management companies and get a realtor. Many companies have information tailored to college students, for example, TransGlobe has a site for college student information where you can find answers to your questions.

2. Transportation
Transportation is imperative to consider, you will want to figure out how you are going to get to the school to move in, whether it be drive or fly and you will also want to think of how you are going to get around once you are at school. Bringing a car is a great idea depending on parking and most schools have some form of public transportation but it is worth looking it up and figuring how you will get around.

3. Registering for Classes
Registering for classes can be difficult because it is somewhat time sensitive. You will want to do it as soon as possible and have all the classes you want to take already picked out. It’s probably a good idea to look at what classes are required for the school as well as for your major. Also, try and stay away from those 8 AM classes.

4. Books
Books are one of the biggest expenses in college and can cost you up to $1000 per year. So here are a few money saving tricks. First, look and see if any of your books are available at the school library, many times novels can be checked out from the library and there is really no need to buy the book. Next, look for used books online or rent your text books online, it will save you the bookstore prices and as a student, you can get free shipping on Amazon.

5. Food/Dining
Everybody has to eat, so it is very important to either invest in some sort of meal plan or set aside a certain amount of money each month for food. It is a good idea to check out the eating options beforehand and decide whether or not you want to buy a meal plan or just eat at places close to campus.

College is a major transition and with so many things to think about, it is easy for one to overlook some important details.

As many more households these days are turning to the innovations in solar power to maintain their energy needs, more members of the population are becoming educated on how this actually works. While many adults understand the principles of photovoltaics, it’s not necessarily something a child would grasp. There are, however, plenty of resources available from schools and on the web in order to make the processes easily understandable.

It’s also a way to make it more graspable for adults, and sometimes simple explanations are the easiest way to remember how things work. To begin any lesson on solar power for kids of all ages, it’s necessary to look at the history. People have been using solar power for many, many generations. This is easily understood when one considers that, any time the sun heats something else, this is, in effect, solar power.

There are plenty of interesting experiments to teach solar power, and these can be as fun as they are entertaining. The ice cube experiment is just one elegant example. Laying ice cubes on 6 different pieces of paper, all different colors but one must use one black and one white, it’s instantly apparent how it works. The black paper will always melt the ice cube first, because the color absorbs heat, and this is directly transferred to the ice. From this, one can see how companies like California solar installers can make enormous contributions to the health of the planet, by making it possible for people to harness the energy of the sun for their daily needs.

For many people, the thought of dealing with judicial system and hiring a lawyer is a daunting task. There are many things to consider before you decide to share your story and hard earned cash with a lawyer. Whether you need them for a legal proceeding or just advice, there are several things that you can do to help the process of choosing a lawyer run smoothly.
The first thing that you want to do is consider all of your options. Call several law offices and make appointments with lawyers from each. The primary consultation will give you the opportunity to meet and hopefully feel comfortable with each other. This is a good time to ask questions about the cost and how things will be handled. It is also a good idea to ask the lawyers about their previous experience both in and out of the courtroom as well as their experience in cases like yours. It is important to remember that this is your decision. The lawyer that you decide to hire should be willing to work closely with you, allow you to make the ultimate decision, and most importantly make you feel at ease.
In each city and state, including Las Vegas, law s govern the actions of lawyers. They are required to maintain the strictest confidentiality, represent their client’s interests above everything else, and maintain undivided loyalty to their client. Unfortunately there are lawyers out there that do not follow these guidelines and while you can report them to the American Bar Association , it probably won’t do much. The complaints that are most likely to see results are cases of malpractice; however they are very costly and often very hard to prove.
The task of choosing a lawyer is not one that should be taken lightly. Taking your time and evaluating all of your options is the best way to make sure you are satisfied with the results.

After a few years had passed since I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree from Arizona State University, I wanted to expand on two of the elements of humanity that intrigued me. The history of our species, my first degree was in Anthropology, and art. I had been painting my entire life and while I have had success in the art world, I just wanted something more. I wasn’t particular designed to sit alone in a painting studio for hours, I wanted to be more involved in the world. I had also been fascinated for some time about the Canadian city of Vancouver, so I decided to apply to the graduate program at the University of British Columbia . On the day that I received my acceptance letter, I figured it was time to start making plans for the move, even though it was a few month away. Not knowing exactly where to start when it came to looking for a place to live, I went online and found what I needed to at this site, check here . I found the information extremely helpful, I wish these kinds of sites were around when I had first started college. It offered information not only on apartment listings, but advice on looking for a job and how to make sure that you find a great roommate. As the time for me to move drew nearer, I rented my apartment before I had even left the states. It was very comforting to know that I had a place of my own waiting for me. After two years, I had my Masters of Arts in Art History. I now work for the Vancouver Art Gallery , and we are in the middle of the Leonardo Da Vinci show, The Mechanics of Man. I liked that city so much that I just decided to stay once I graduated. And now that I can afford to move to a bigger apartment, I am staying in this one for a while, because where I am at right now, just feels too much like home.

Mallory was just beginning her first semester at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and didn’t know anyone on campus when she first arrived there. It was a beautiful campus and she loved the self-contained aspect of it as well as all of the lakes. It was definitely her favorite of those that she toured before making her final decision. She had applied to three different schools and was accepted by all three of them, which at first seemed to be exciting but then Mallory quickly realized that problem that it actually presented. She felt like her work was over simply by narrowing her options to three schools. However, when she received her acceptance letters she realized it had only just begun.

Finally, her decision came down to a gut instinct to go to Charlotte. Her parents were happy with her choice though she never confessed how she arrived there. They had been with her on her original visit and they all stayed in one of the Charlotte luxury hotels. Both of her parents were impressed with the campus and the school and her mother loved the university neighborhood in which it was located. At the time Mallory fantasized about which apartment she would live in and all the friends she would meet while at school.

The actuality of the demands of college and realities of being on her own had fully settled in as Mallory made her way to her early Monday morning algebra class. The highlight of that class, well aside from the fact that she actually liked algebra, was the fact that an incredibly good looking guy sat right across from her every day. She sat at her desk and looked forward to seeing him when someone tapped on her shoulder. She looked up and it was Matt, that good lucking guy! He asked her if she was doing okay with their current section and she said she was, which she immediately regretted thinking he was going to offer to help her. Instead, Matt looked relieved and asked if she would be willing to meet him in the library later that afternoon to help him. Mallory agreed she would and suddenly, and for the first time, realized she loved college life.
