The University of Dayton was Holly’s first choice of schools. She had visited the campus once five years ago when her cousin Troy was a student there. Holly and her brother Michael and driven out to visit Troy for the weekend. Michael and Troy were close and her brother let Holly tag along even though he may have preferred a weekend with just the two guys. Be that as it may, Holly did accompany her brother on that trip enjoyed her time in Dayton. She also remembers loving the campus and thought that it was beautiful. She planned on joining their large academic department of the College of Arts and Sciences. She planned to be a physics major though she also planned to go to graduate school where she would hone her focus into astronomy. She had no idea at that point where she would go for her graduate studies.
Holly’s parents supported her decision to study at Dayton and the family planned a trip to visit and tour the campus. They made their reservations in one of the Dayton hotels near the campus drove out to visit the university and the city in which it was located. The neighborhood around the campus was pretty similar to how Holly remembered it though there were definitely some new businesses. Just arriving in the city gave her a great feeling and though she had only been there once before it was almost like she was coming home. She wondered about this connection and how some people felt that intrinsic love and connection to certain places. She drew no conclusions but thought perhaps after she had finished her degree she might have some idea as to why this occurred. Holly remembered exactly where her primary building was located and took her parents directly to it. They thought the campus was beautiful and it seemed like a great place for their daughter to study. Holly couldn’t have agreed more.
